When using the paper filter, experience a clean & flavoursome brew with a light body & no sediment. Opt for the metal filter to enjoy a textured, full-bodied coffee reminiscent of a cafetiere.
Tip: Embrace the characteristics of live pour-over brewing, & expect some drips to pass through the filter during preparation. However, once you insert the plunger handle, the silicone seal creates a vacuum, preventing any further dripping. For total control over ratios & to eliminate dripping altogether, you can also brew using the flipped method.
HOW TO USE:Preparation: Gather the Strong Brew, filter papers, medium-fine ground coffee, & a scoop.Assembling: Identify the upper handle section, silicone plunger, storage lid, lower handle, & helix chamber. Align the marks on the helix chamber & lower handle, & twist to assemble. Wet the filter paper & place it in the lower section.Coffee Loading: Add 15g of coffee to the helix chamber, & shake to flatten the bed. Add 3x the amount of water as coffee (e.g., 45g), stir, & let it bloom for 30 seconds.Adding Hot Water: Top up with hot water towards the top of the helix chamber, leaving a centimetre at the top. Align the upper section with the helix chamber & press down.Brewing: Allow it to brew for the desired time.Plunging: After brewing, apply downward pressure & start twisting for 30 seconds. If water seepage occurs, release pressure, & slowly start plunging again without reversing.Finishing: As you approach the bottom of the plunge, listen for the air pressure release, & stop. Shake the Strong Brew to prevent drips & enjoy your coffee as a short black or top up for a longer coffee.
